The killer flu killing the stock market as well?

The killer flu killing the stock market as well?

The killer flu is freaking people out about much more than just their health. Experts are predicting that this flu will also affect the stock market in a big way. All markets are thought to be affected when this terrible flu finally reaches its boiling point. If the most dire predictions prove to be right there will be worldwide devastation among the whole worlds economy. This needless to say is not a good thing.

Even the predictions could pose a problem, it is possible that if the flu spreads much more that it could destabilize the stock market. Rumors have a way of hampering the progress of many a company on the stock market. The biggest problem is that there have been so many world catastrophes in the last couple of years. There was the tsunami, then the hurricanes this year and who can forget about the wars in Iraq and the trouble in Afghanistan? Add to all this turmoil a killer flu and you are gong to have a few bumps in the stock market.

The vast majority of economists are not overly concerned though, you would think that  would be a good thing but there is yet another problem with this. The main reason why they do not seem very concerned is that most of them cannot actually imagine such an outbreak. They cannot see how the flu can kill so many people in this day in age, or at least that seems to be the reasoning of many of them.

So how is it that a killer flu would hurt the economy and the stock market so badly? If millions of people get sick and they cannot work this is bound to affect the production of many different things all over the world. This alone will have a major impact on the stock market. How can a company make money if they can no longer produce their product? With the killer flu we are looking at, worst case scenario of course, tens of millions of people dying worldwide. That is a lot of workers to lose. On top of that the world will have all of the healthcare costs to worry about. These types of things will definitely affect the stock market if the killer flu really does turn into a pandemic.
